Hollywood was buzzing as the Freakier Friday premiere took over the legendary El Capitan Theatre and of course, I had to take you inside with me.

As always, when premieres are set on Hollywood & Highland, I parked at the Ovation. (Pro tip: it’s both easy and affordable.) My plus one for the evening was my friend and colleague Jose Quintero, who you know from our morning show La Vale Show. We headed in to celebrate Disney’s newest sequel.

Pre-Show Festivities

The energy started before the movie even rolled. A massive stage was set up outside where a live band performed songs from Pink Slip, the iconic band from the original film. Fans went wild when the original cast members reunited onstage to sing the legendary “Take Me Away.”

From there, the excitement shifted to the red carpet. Former Disney stars showed up to celebrate, including Jake Thomas (remember him as Matt McGuire from Lizzie McGuire?). I personally loved that show.

The film itself was everything fans could hope for. The sequel not only brought back the original cast but also introduced a few fresh faces. There were plenty of clever nods to the first film, giving diehard fans those “I see what you did there” moments.

After-Party & Activations

The celebration wasn’t over, outside, Disney had set up themed activations, food stations, and interactive experiences. Guests were treated to goodies and gift bags perfectly in line with the film’s playful vibe. It was the kind of after-party that makes you remember why Hollywood premieres are such a magical experience.

Spotted at the Premiere

Some of the familiar faces I spotted throughout the night included:

  • Maia Kealoha

  • Patrick Starrr

  • Jake Thomas

Final Thoughts

From the throwback performances to the nostalgic Easter eggs woven into the film, Freakier Friday is a must-watch. Disney managed to honor the original while creating something fresh—and trust me, you’ll want to catch it on the big screen.
